Sources: Chelsea submitting new Moises Caicedo bid worth £100m

Chelsea are now in talks with Brighton over a deal worth a staggering £100million for Moises Caciedo, sources have told Football Insider.

The deal being discussed would be an initial fee of £90m plus £10m in add-ons as the Blues push to land the midfielder’s signature.

On 8 August, Football Insider revealed that Mauricio Pochettino expects the 21-year-old to be in his squad by the end of the transfer window.

Caicedo is a key target for the Blues boss and the club are working towards a solution to bring him to the club for the 31 August cut off.

The Seagulls have been holding firm on the £100m valuation of the Ecuador international which has slowed down talks and frustrated the player to the point where he has refused to train with the first team and reiterate his desire to leave.

Caicedo was a key member of Roberto de Zerbi’s squad last season, playing 37 Premier League games in a season that saw the club achieve European qualification for next term.

On 2 August, Football Insider revealed that Liverpool had joined the race to sign the midfielder and have been in contact with Brighton to register their interest.

Jurgen Klopp has been attempting to strengthen his midfield this summer and has already added Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to his midfield ranks.

The German is struggling for options in the middle of the pitch despite the new arrivals after losing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson to the Saudi Pro League.
