Sources: Pochettino is expecting Chelsea deal to now get done as new Moises Caicedo bid revealed
Mauricio Pochettino is expecting Moises Caicedo to be a Chelsea player by the end of the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Chelsea remain in talks with Brighton and are now expected to submit a new and improved official bid of £90million as they look to finally get a deal over the line.
Caicedo is a key target for the Argentine manager and the club are positively working towards a solution to bring him into the squad before the 31st August cut-off.
Talks have been slow and Brighton have held firm on their £100m valuation of the 21-year old, which has led to frustration from the player’s camp.
This has prompted the Ecuador international to refuse to train with the Brighton first team and reiterate his stance that he want to leave the club and join Chelsea.
Personal terms are already verbally agreed and a long term deal is ready for Caicedo as the Blues continue to try and secure an agreement well short of the near-Declan Rice figure that Brighton are holding out for.

Discussions are ongoing and will continue through the week with the midfielder now removing himself from first team responsibilities in a bid to try and push through what would be a “huge” deal given the costs involved.
Pochettino has already seen new additions arrive at Cobham with Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Axel Disasi and former Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez arriving at the club.
Caicedo was a key figure for Roberto De Zerbi’s side last season playing 37 games in the Premier League and helping the club achieve European qualification. He has also been capped 32 times by Ecuador at senior level.
