Revealed: Man United board alarmed how Ten Hag has handled three big names amid fears he is 'losing dressing room' - sources
Man United chiefs are increasingly unimpressed by Erik ten Hag’s management of his controversial stars amid growing fears he struggles to deal with big dressing room egos, sources have told Football Insider.
The Dutchman has had to handle some delicate issues during his two seasons at the helm, including off-field issues involving Mason Greenwood and Antony.
Nevertheless, there is believed to be some major concern among the United hierarchy, sources say, about how Ten Hag manages some of the players.
Among three the club believe could have been handled far better are Harry Maguire, the demoted former captain, Greenwood, who was loaned to Getafe in the summer, and Jadon Sancho, the frozen-out £70million-plus attacker.
Ten Hag was widely praised for how he dealt with Cristiano Ronaldo in his debut campaign and alienated the superstar to the extent his mega-money contract was terminated mid-season.
But there is a growing sense that the Dutchman lacks the soft skills needed to unite a whole dressing room of global talent and the egos that come with it.

United have had a wretched start to the season, losing four of their opening eight Premier League matches, and needed two injury-time goals to beat Brentford 2-1 in their final game before the international break.
That eased some of the growing pressure on the manager, who is struggling to implement his strict plans on the pitch.
Tempers have frayed behind the scenes and Ten Hag is struggling to get the best out of many of his players.
This comes after the club spent £178million on four new signings in the summer, including £72million on Rasmus Hojlund.
Meanwhile, there is concern inside and outside of the club by the influence of Ten Hag’s agent Kees Vos over transfers with his agency behind the Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat transfers.
Vos’s Sports Entertainment Group have become the go-to agency in negotiating player signings and sales for United, with the manager’s son Nigel working for SEG as an analyst.
