Sources: Major update on Man City star Kevin De Bruyne
Kevin De Bruyne remains happy at Man City as his mega-money contract runs down, sources have told Football Insider.
The 31-year-old’s deal is up in June 2025 but a well-placed source has told Football Insider there is “no urgency” to sit down and discuss a renewal.
Man City are keen to keep De Bruyne at the Etihad Stadium, while the player is also content after spearheading the Citizens’ charge to a historic treble last term.
The Belgium international currently earns a reported wage of £400,000-a-week and is thus not pushing for a new agreement.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that both player and club are likely to sit down in around 12 months’ time to discuss De Bruyne’s long-term future at City.
The midfielder is currently out of action with a serious hamstring injury he sustained on the opening day of the Premier League season.

De Bruyne struggled with hamstring issues for a large part of the 2022-23 campaign before eventually being forced off in the Champions League final win over Inter Milan in June.
He made 49 total appearances last term, notching 10 goals and 31 assists in a stellar season.
The ex-Wolfsburg star struck up a strong partnership with hitman Erling Haaland, who scored 52 goals across all competitions to help City win the treble.
De Bruyne has been at the Etihad Stadium since joining for a reported £54million in 2015.
He has gone on to notch 96 goals and 153 assists in 358 games for the club, winning five Premier League titles amid a swathe of individual and team honours.
Man City, who have lost their last two league games, are next in action against Brighton on Saturday.
De Bruyne is yet to return to training following his early-season injury.
