Insider: Arsenal 'suffer massively' as Tottenham to 'take advantage' of 'big blow'
Tottenham are set for a “huge boost” as their rivals lose players to the Africa Cup of Nations.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
This week, several Premier League clubs have lost key players to this year’s AFCON.
Liverpool have lost Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita while Arsenal will lose Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Thomas Partey, Nicolas Pepe and Mohamed Elneny.
Chelsea are also losing star stopper Edouard Mendy while Leicester lose Daniel Amartey, Kelechi Iheanacho, Nampalys Mendy and Wilfried Ndidi
Wenham is hoping Tottenham, who won’t lose any players, can make up ground on their rivals while key men are missing.

“I think Arsenal will suffer massively,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I really hope this is something we can take advantage of because it is a huge blow for other teams.
“With Covid going on and the number of games that get played in this period, losing four first-team players is a big blow for Arsenal.
“Liverpool are in the same position with losing Salah and Mane, they are two massive players who won’t be there for a long time.
“We also play Chelsea three times before the end of AFCON and they won’t have their best goalkeeper.
“This is a situation we can take advantage of because we aren’t losing anyone.”
Tottenham face Arsenal on 16 January.
They also face Chelsea in two Carabao Cup semi-finals on 5 and 12 January before a league clash on 23 January.
