Sheffield Wednesday fans have raged over owner Dejphon Chansiri’s plea for £2million to pay the club’s taxes.
Chansiri urged fans to help the struggling Owls, claiming that if 20,000 supporters all gave £100 each then the debts would be clear.
The owner denied withholding funds but claimed that cash flow issues are preventing him from making payments.
Chansiri admitted he could not guarantee that high-earning staff, playing and non-playing, would get paid but promised that all supporters who pledged money would receive it back with interest.
Fans have reacted with unanimous anger over the owners’ latest controversy at Hillsborough.
