Sources: Everton in talks to sign Southampton star as Chermiti undergoes medical

Everton have booked a medical for new signing Youssef Chermiti with his signature set to be secured by Tuesday evening, sources have told Football Insider.

The Portuguese forward will also undergo all media duties at the club’s Finch Farm base before being unveiled to fans officially by the club.

The 19-year-old has signed a long term deal at Everton after being targeted by the recruitment team over a year ago and he is seen as very exciting talent.

Sean Dyche is keen to see more than just Chermiti arrive at the club with talks ongoing over a number of other potential signings they hope to land before the deadline.

He will not be the only striker to arrive at the club if all goes to plan as they seek another forward who can help find goals to keep them away from the relegation zone.

It is believed that Everton remain in negotiations with Southampton over a potential loan deal for winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Harry Maguire is understood to be of interest also however his high wage demands and unwillingness to leave Manchester United are problematic for suitors.

The signing of the teenage forward should see the beginning of Everton’s window and at least 3 more bodies could arrive before the deadline on September 2nd.

Chermiti played 22 times for Sporting Lisbon last season, scoring three and assisting two more. He has also been capped four times at under-21 level for Portugal.
