Sources: West Ham make move to sign Hugo Ekitike

West Ham have registered their interest in signing sought-after Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike, sources have told Football Insider.

The Hammers area one of four Premier League sides keen on Ekitike’s services this summer as the race for the Frenchman heats up.

Football Insider has learned that, despite reports, Everton have not yet bid for the Frenchman.

The 21-year-old joined PSG on loan last summer from fellow Ligue 1 side Stade Reims and his move was made permanent earlier this summer.

Ekitike made 32 appearances across all competitions for the French outfit last season, netting four goals and offering up four assists in those outings.

But despite the forward’s recent arrival, reports in France claim that the player has been told he is surplus to requirements in Paris and is able to find a new club.

West Ham are keen for striker reinforcements up front following the sale of Gianluca Scamacca to Italian side Atalanta.

Michail Antonio has also been attracting interest this summer and had been closing in on a move to the Saudi Pro League before it fell through.

Football Insider revealed (1 August) that Everton could rekindle their interest in the striker following his failed move to Saudi.

The Hammers are also at risk of losing star midfielder Lucas Paqueta with Man City pushing to land his services for next term.

Football Insider revealed (9 August) that David Moyes want at least £80million up front if they are willing to let go of the Brazilian.

Moyes’ side begin their new campaign on Saturday with a trip to Bournemouth on Saturday (12 August).
