Michail Antonio: Everton could now swoop for West Ham star
Everton could rekindle their interest in West Ham star Michail Antonio after the collapse of his Saudi Pro League move, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (31 July) that he will not join Al Ettifaq – for now – after they moved for ex-Lyon man Moussa Dembele on a free transfer.
However, it is believed the Irons are open to offers for Antonio with less than one year remaining on his contract at the London Stadium.
Everton could be joined in the race by Wolves and Nottingham Forest – with all three sides previously holding an interest in the 33-year-old and in need of striking reinforcements this summer.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that a potential exit for the Jamaica international could hinge on West Ham signing a new forward in the final month of the summer window.
Sources told Football Insider last month (30 June) that the Merseysiders are keen to add two strikers to their squad with Ellis Simms already leaving and Neal Maupay set to depart.
