Sources: Major update on Celtic signing Real Madrid star Lunin
Celtic are unlikely to be able to bring Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to the club, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (20 October) that Celtic are eyeing goalkeeping reinforcements in January – but could delay the signing until next summer if the right option is not available.
Lunin has been widely linked with a potential move to Parkhead – where Joe Hart currently occupies the number one berth.
However, it is believed the Ukraine international would prefer a move to the Premier League if he is to leave Real Madrid.
Lunin, 24, is out of contract at the Santiago Bernabeu in June 2024.
He has turned out twice for Los Blancos this term, conceding one goal and keeping one clean sheet.

The shot-stopper has been a backup for the Spanish giants since joining the club from Zorya Lugansk in July 2018.
He has made 20 total appearances for Real Madrid, conceding 20 goals and keeping five clean sheets.
Lunin has also had loan spells at Real Oviedo, Real Valladolid and Leganes.
He has been capped nine times by Ukraine, with his most recent appearance coming against Scotland 13 months ago.
Hart remains the current first choice between the sticks for Celtic in the 2023-24 campaign – his third season at the club.
Ange Postecoglou brought him to the club on a free transfer in 2021, and Brendan Rodgers has stuck with the ex-England international following his summer arrival.
