Revealed Bryan Gil set for key Tottenham role as Postecoglou very impressed in training - sources
Bryan Gil is set to come in from the cold and play a key role for Tottenham in the coming weeks, sources have told Football Insider.
Gil was expected to leave in the summer window after a spell on loan at Sevilla in the second half of last season but is now closing in on a comeback and a first-team role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The 22-year-old has not featured for Spurs since January and only recently returned to full training following a groin injury he picked up in the summer.
Gil has “blown away” manager Ange Postecoglou in training at Hotspur Way, sources say, and is in line for a major role in the side following long-term injuries to Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon.
The Lilywhites confirmed (5 October), that Solomon suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training this week and has undergone surgery on the problem.
He is set to be out until Christmas while last month teammate Ivan Perisic broke down with a complex anterior cruciate ligament injury that was also picked up in training.

Perisic is set to miss the majority of the season and Football Insider revealed (6 October) that he has reached a verbal agreement to join Hadjuk Split.
Spurs could sanction the move in the January window with the player not expected to wear the jersey again.
The injuries have opened the door for Gil, who made 11 first team appearances last term before being sent out on loan, to force his way into Postecoglou’s new-look Tottenham side.
