Sources: Brighton confident of agreeing Mitoma deal soon
Brighton are confident of agreeing a new contract with star man Kaoru Mitoma, sources have told Football Insider.
They are desperate to keep the 26-year-old at the Amex Stadium as he is a key player for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
Mitoma’s current deal only runs until June 2025, which has piqued the interest of several elite Premier League clubs.
Man City became the latest side to be credited with an interest in the Japan international during the summer window, but a move failed to materialise.
Mitoma has become one of the Premier League’s best wingers since breaking through at Brighton in the 2022-23 campaign.
He managed 10 goals and eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions as the Seagulls achieved a historic sixth-place finish last term.

The left-winger has scored seven goals in 18 appearances for Japan and played for his country at the 2022 World Cup.
