Agbonlahor tells Kalvin Phillips to 'join Everton or West Ham' after new quotes emerge
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Kalvin Phillips to join “Everton or West Ham” in January after opening the door to a potential Man City exit.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the penny will have dropped for the 27-year-old after Pep Guardiola snubbed him for City’s loss against Arsenal earlier this month.
Phillips started for England in their 3-1 win over Italy on Tuesday (17 October), and admitted post-match (as per the BBC) that “he will have to make a decision on [my future] over the next months”.
Football Insider revealed last week (13 October) that the ex-Leeds United midfielder is looking more and more likely to leave Man City in 2024.
Phillips has made just five club appearances totalling 167 minutes of action in the 2023-24 campaign.
But England boss Gareth Southgate has kept faith with the Man City ace and continues to include him in his squad despite that lack of game time.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “He’s not got a future at Man City, that’s for sure.
“Pep Guardiola didn’t even start him against Arsenal with Rodri out suspended.
“He’ll be saying ‘why did you buy me if I’m not playing these games’.
“If he wasn’t sure about his future before that game, he knows now.
“If I’m him, I want to play football. He’s a young lad with a lot of years left.
“Join Everton or West Ham and just play football, because otherwise you are going to affect your England chances.”
