Sources: West Brom eye move for Reading star Nesta Guinness-Walker
West Brom are interested in signing Reading defender Nesta Guinness-Walker, sources have told Football Insider.
The Baggies are looking to strengthen their defensive department and are keen to bring the 23-year-old left-back to the Hawthorns.
Reading have informed senior players, including Guinness-Walker, that they may be sold to raise funds this summer.
The Royals are experiencing a financial crisis and have put a number of first-team stars up for sale to try and balance the books.
West Brom are ready to pounce on Guinness-Walker’s availability, but they face competition for his signature from Blackburn Rovers.
Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side is also looking to add some late signings to his squad before the 1 September deadline.

Guinness-Walker has been out of the Reading squad for their last two matches, with Matty Carson preferred at left-back by manager Ruben Selles.
He featured regularly in the 2022/23 campaign, playing 1,742 minutes across all competitions at both left-back and left-midfield.
The former Chelsea and Tottenham academy star only joined Reading last summer after a successful trial at the club.
He only signed a one-year contract, but a clause was triggered to keep him at Reading for the 2023/24 season.
Prior to his Reading move, Guinness-Walker impress at Wimbledon, where he made 97 appearances and scored three times in three years at the club.
Guinness-Walker could leave the club before their League One campaign resumes with a trip to Exeter City next Saturday (26 August).
