Sources: Major update on Man United potentially signing Palace star in January
Man United are unlikely to complete the signing of Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi in the January window, sources have told Football Insider.
A well-placed source has revealed that a deal for the 23-year-old will be “hard to do” in the mid-season window.
It is believed Guehi is happy to remain a Palace player until at least the summer of 2024.
The England international wants guaranteed first-team football week-in, week-out as he targets a starring role for the Three Lions at next summer’s European Championships in Germany.
Guehi is now a regular feature in Gareth Southgate’s squad and could feature for his country in Tuesday’s (17 October) crunch qualifier against Italy.
He has turned out six times for England since making his international debut in March 2022.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (16 October) that the Crystal Palace star is a target for Man United as well as several other Premier League sides.
The Red Devils are very much in the market for a new centre-back after injuries to the likes of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez already this season.
Injuries to full-backs Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have also hindered manager Erik ten Hag.
Guehi is under contract at Selhurst Park until June 2026 and earns a reported wage of £50,000-a-week on that deal.
The 23-year-old has turned out nine times across all competitions for Crystal Palace so far this season, including during their 1-0 win over Man United at Old Trafford last month.
He has been outstanding since joining Palace from Chelsea in 2021 – when he cost a reported fee of up to £20million.
