Sources: Tottenham reject Eric Dier offer from Burnley
Tottenham have rejected an offer from Burnley for Eric Dier, sources have told Football Insider.
Vincent Kompany’s side have made a late move for the Spurs centre-back, 29, as they look to strengthen their defence with a late deal.
Burnley have submitted a loan bid for Dier but it has been knocked back by the Londoners.
Dier’s future is up in the air going into the final two days of the window after he dropped down the pecking order under new boss Ange Postecoglou.
The centre-back has entered the final year of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He joined the London club from Portuguese side Sporting in 2014 and signed an extension back in 2020.

Dier has made 361 appearances for Spurs since his arrival at the club almost ten years ago and has netted 13 goals and offered up 12 assists in those outings.
Last season, Dier was a regular started for the Lilywhites and featured 42 times for the club.
Under new boss Postecoglou, the centre-back has fallen out of favour and is yet to make an appearance.
The Aussie has preferred Cristian Romero and new signing Micky van de Ven as his centre-back pairing so far this season.
Van de Ven joined Tottenham earlier this month from Wolfsburg for an initial fee of £34.5million with the deal potentially rising to £43m.
The defender put pen to paper on a six-year contract that runs until 2029.
