Sources: Everton plot Jack Harrison raid - and could now sign two Leeds United big names

Everton have set their sights on signing Leeds United winger Jack Harrison in a £16 million deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The Englishman is subject to heavy interest after his side’s relegation from the Premier League and the Toffees are keeping close tabs on his situation.

The 26-year old only signed a new Leeds deal in April this year but he is expected to leave the club this summer, with a £16m release clause in his contract.

Sean Dyche is keen to add to the squad as they try to pull away from the bottom of the Premier League next season after successive seasons of relegation scraps.

Leeds face a number of players leaving the club and are braced for bids for their stars including Harrison and Italian talent Wilfried Gnonto.

Everton were also linked to Gnonto but those links are yet to be confirmed.

However, sources have told Football Insider that a double swoop may not be off the cards should it be financially viable.

Stringent FFP regulations and Premier League rules have handcuffed the Merseyside clubs’ spending power, shifting their focus to deals that can be done for a relatively low price or free agents.

The cost of a new stadium build is also taken into account ,which is why Harrison presents a good opportunity to get a good player for a reasonable fee.

Everton will also look to hang onto key players this summer as Amadou Onana and right-back Nathan Patterson are among players who are attracting interest.

Harrison made 40 appearances for Leeds last season scoring six goals and grabbing 10 assists. He has made over 200 appearances for United and been capped at England Under-21s level.
