Celtic tipped to complete double goalkeeper deal in January after source's Joe Hart reveal - pundit
Celtic tipped to tie down Joe Hart to new deal and sign another goalkeeper in January.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton expects the Hoops to offer Hart a contract extension but they will also need to sign another goalkeeper.
The 36-year-old’s current contract at Parkhead is due to expire in the summer after comfortably serving as number one since his arrival in 2021.
On 21 October, Football Insider revealed that the former England international has entered talks with the club over prolonging his stay in Glasgow.
Although Brendan Rodgers is keen to add another shot stopper to his ranks, the club are keen to hold on to Hart’s experience between the sticks.
Celtic were keen to bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer window but a move failed to materialise and although they are eyeing up a January addition, they are willing to wait until the summer if need be.

When asked if the Hoops will be keen to tie down Hart even if they are eyeing up reinforcements, Hutton told Football Insider: “I would not be surprised if they did.
“You look at the likes of Bain coming in when Hart could not play a few weeks ago, I think there is a situation there that need to bring somebody in.
“If they do give Hart a new contract, I think they need somebody there to try and push him if not somebody there to come in and be a number one.
“It is probably something that Brendan Rodgers is looking at because Hart is not going to be there forever.“
