Sources: Rangers plot three January signings as Clement priority revealed
Rangers are planning to add at least two, and potentially three, new signings in the January transfer window as they plan to make full use of the loan market, sources have told Football Insider.
It is believed the club are already laying the groundwork for signings who could potentially arrive at Ibrox as soon as the window opens.
Philippe Clement, who was appointed as Michael Beale’s successor last month, is keen to add players known to him.
It is believed he wants to reinforce his squad with stars capable of making an instant impact for Rangers.
However, a well-placed source has revealed the Gers are short of funds heading into the mid-season window – making loan and loan-to-buy deals the most likely option for Clement.
Sources say a prolific forward is a top target for the Belgian despite a radical overhaul of that area in the most recent summer window.

Danilo, Cyril Dessers and Sam Lammers were all signed under Michael Beale’s stewardship but are yet to find their feet in Scotland.
The trio have scored nine combined goals so far in the 2023-24 campaign.
Clement has significant knowledge of the European market having previously managed at Monaco, Club Brugge, Genk and S.K. Beveren.
Beale brought nine total new faces into the club in the summer while also allowing 15 first-teamers to move on.
Rangers are yet to lose in three games under Clement and drew 0-0 against Sparta Prague in the Europa League last week (26 October).
The Ibrox club are next in action against Dundee on Wednesday (1 November).
