Newcastle United two-man signing plan revealed as new Livramento details emerge - sources
Newcastle United are not finished in the summer window following Harvey Barnes’ capture and will push to seal deals for a left-back and a centre-back, sources have told Football Insider.
Tino Livramento fits the Magpies’ desired profile as he can play both left-back and right-back – and it is believed negotiations for the Southampton star are not entirely dead.
Newcastle have reportedly seen a £30million bid for Livramento, 20, rejected – with the Saints wanting to hold out for a fee of £50million for the starlet.
But a well-placed source has revealed that hope remains within St James’ Park that a deal can be struck for the England Under-21 international.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a big fan of the former Chelsea youngster.
The Magpies are pushing to seal a deal for Livramento, who only returned from a horror anterior cruciate ligament injury at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

Chelsea reportedly have a buy-back option for Livramento worth £38million – with that clause becoming active this summer.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are keen to add competition to their pool of centre-backs with Champions League football on the horizon.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (18 July) that Howe’s side have opened talks to sign Axel Disasi from AS Monaco.
The Magpies have already wrapped up moves for Barnes and Italy international Sandro Tonali, with Allan Saint-Maximin leaving the club to facilitate those big-money deals.
