Sources: Tottenham accelerate Edmond Tapsoba move after deal agreed
Tottenham will accelerate their push to sign Edmond Tapsoba after completing the capture of Micky van de Ven from Wolfsburg, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs are keen to add at least two new options at centre-back this summer after the position has been identified by Ange Postecoglou as a key area to strengthen.
Tapsoba, 24, is wanted by multiple clubs around Europe and is keen to move to a top side this summer amid major competition for his signature.
Leverkusen are demanding around £50million for the defender and that price could rise if multiple European clubs push to try and bring him in.
Davinson Sánchez has been made available and has been told he is free to find a new club with Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Saudi clubs circling.
A potential £15m sale of Sanchez and funds brought in through the ever more likely sale of captain Harry Kane would move chairman Daniel Levy to spend more on targets like Tapsoba.

The club will first finalise the capture of Micky Van de Ven for a fee reaching £43m inclusive of add-ons before moving for other targets. Levy is leading negotiations for the Wolfsburg defender.
The north London side have been busy trying to bring in a number of talents and have so far brought in Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison as well as making the loan moves of Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro permanent.
Tapsoba recently made his 100th Bundesliga appearance for Bayer Leverkusen and is a key feature for the side. He has been capped 36 times for Burkina Faso.
