Sources: Man City submitting new £80m+ Lucas Paqueta bid

Man City are set to submit a fresh bid for Lucas Paqueta in the next 24 hours, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the new offer will be worth £80 million as the Premier League club look to strike a deal with West Ham.

This comes after personal terms have already been agreed with the Brazil international.

The Manchester giants had a £70million-plus offer for the 25-year-old rejected by the Hammers last week.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Pep Guardiola’s side have been “encouraged” by the player’s interest in completing a move to the Etihad Stadium.

West Ham now face losing their two prize assets of their 2022-23 campaign this summer, with Declan Rice already completing a nine-figure move to Arsenal.

Paqueta cost the Londoners a club-record reported fee of £51million when he joined from French giants Lyon last summer

The Brazil international signed a five-year deal upon his arrival at the London Stadium – and that contract can be extended a further 12 months by West Ham.

He has been a regular starter for David Moyes since his £51million move.

He had made 41 appearances for the Hammers, scoring five goals and assisting seven as he helped West Ham to European silverware in the Europa Conference League.

Guardiola is keen to add further reinforcements, however, with key men Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez both departing the club in recent months.

In other news, Man City have two transfer alternatives to Paqueta on their summer window list
