Sources: Millwall approach Neil Warnock to be new manager
Neil Warnock has been approached by Millwall to become their new manager, sources have told Football Insider.
Warnock is a top contender to take over from Gary Rowett after he was sacked by the club on Wednesday (18 October) and has been approached by the London club about his interest in the vacancy.
Millwall want a manager with a proven track record of promotion, and who knows the division.
Warnock certainly fits the bill on both counts, and holds the record for the most promotions in English football, with eight.
Rowett was appointed as manager back in 2019 and helped the club to top-half finishes in each Championship campaign and they also regularly challenged for the play-off spots.
Warnock left Huddersfield last month after just over seven months with the club in the latest post of what has been a remarkable career.
