Agbonlahor can't believe Andre Onana could be axed at Man United after what he saw
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Man United goalkeeper Andre Onana to bounce back and “prove everyone wrong” after a series of high-profile mistakes.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 27-year-old must stop being so “relaxed” and “casual” on the ball.
Onana made yet another high-profile mistake in the 3-2 Champions League loss against Galatasaray on Tuesday (3 October), with his poor pass leading to the dismissal of Casemiro in the game’s final stages.
The shot-stopper also dropped a clanger in last month’s 4-3 loss against Bayern Munich and has kept just three clean sheets in 10 games so far this season.
Man United paid a reported fee of £47.2million for Onana in the summer window after his stellar performances for Inter Milan last season.
David de Gea was allowed to leave on a free transfer in June, prior to the arrival of the Cameroon international.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It’s early doors, give Onana a chance.
“He’s been asked to play a certain way, and yes – he will make mistakes.
“He’ll have to be coached a bit. When Casemiro has got someone right next to him, it’s impossible to play him the ball.
“He has also got to stop being so casual. He’s looking far too relaxed on the ball.
“There are things to be worked on, but you can’t say he’s not a good goalkeeper. I don’t think keeping De Gea was the answer.
“Give him time and I’m sure he’ll prove everyone wrong.”
