Exclusive: Man United star Mengi undergoing Luton Town medical after deal agreed
Man United defender Teden Mengi is having a medical at Luton Town at 7am on Thursday, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League new boys have agreed the terms of a permanent deal for the 21-year-old with United.
Luton see Mengi as a potential star in the making and capable of thriving in the Premier League.
The 21-year old has had spells on loan at Derby County and Birmingham City, and will now leave United with less than 12 months remaining on his contract, which runs until the summer of 2024.
Mengi’s deal also includes the option of a one-year extension that the club have the option to activate.
The defender has been part of United’s youth academy throughout his career and signed a professional deal with the club back in 2020 after moving up from the Under-23s.

But the centre-back has made just two appearances for the first team for 35 minutes of senior action.
Mengi has featured 83 times for United’s youth sides and notched two goals in those outings but has failed to make enough of an impact to force his way into the senior side.
Luton are currently joint bottom of the Premier League table with last season’s strugglers Everton.
The Hatters have lost their opening top flight games and face West Ham on Friday (1 September) when they will be hoping to have Mengi through the door.
