Hutton drops Leeds United promotion verdict after stirring win
Leeds United have hit a “turning point” in their season after their comeback win against Norwich City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton insisted Leeds have the squad to get straight back to the top flight next season.
As seen in footage shared by the EFL (22 October), the Whites stormed to a 3-2 win over Norwich despite going 2-0 down at Carrow Road.
Despite a difficult start to their return to the Championship, Daniel Farke’s side moved up to third place and are six points behind Ipswich Town in second.
Hutton suggested the weekend’s result may be the start of a change in fortune for Leeds.
“They are sitting third in the league now and it can take a little bit of time to adjust and I think that is what has happened,” he told Football Insider.

“Losing a lot of players, going into a league that I know is very difficult and can catch you by surprise even though they have been there before.
“You would like to think this could be a turning point for them because it is a big club and they will have aspirations of getting back to the Premier League.
“There are a lot of big teams down there that are going to be pushing for it. They have actually got a decent squad there that should be challenging to get back into the Prem so if they can keep everyone fit and firing they should be able to get back there.“
