Sources: Fulham January priority signing revealed after Silva deal agreed
Marco Silva has been given assurances about spending big in the January window and beyond after penning a new deal at Fulham, sources have told Football Insider.
The Cottagers confirmed on Tuesday (24 October) that Silva has put pen to paper on a new contract, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2025-26 campaign.
His previous deal was set to expire at the end of the current season.
Silva is believed to have been promised significant funds in the transfer market to improve his squad and take Fulham to the next level.
The Londoners sold talisman Aleksandar Mitrović to Al-Hilal in the most recent summer window and are yet to adequately replace him.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that a new striker signing is the “priority” for Fulham and Silva ahead of the January window.

The Craven Cottage outfit are currently among the lowest scorers in the Premier League, having managed just eight top-flight goals in nine games so far this season.
Raul Jimenez arrived at the club in the summer window but is yet to score in nine appearances across all competitions this term.
Tottenham flop Carlos Vinicius has shared striking responsibilities with Jimenez but has managed just two strikes.
Mitrovic notched 15 goals in 28 games across all competitions last term to earn a reported £46million move to the Saudi Pro League.
Fulham sit 13th in the Premier League after nine games.
They are next in action against Brighton on Sunday (29 October).
