Sources: Everton plan to reject Calvert-Lewin offer ahead of January

Everton are not likely to consider any offers for reported Saudi Pro League target Dominic Calvert-Lewin in January, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old is expected to be the main source of goals for Sean Dyche’s side as they prepare for another brush with relegation this season.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (23 October) that Everton are concerned by Al-Ettifaq’s interest in Calvert-Lewin as uncertainty over their takeover situation continues.

As reported by the New York Times (18 October), the process has stalled after US investment group 777 Partners failed to provide the required financial information to British regulators.

Nevertheless, an exit for Calvert-Lewin in January is out of the question despite reports suggesting Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq are set to swoop for the Englishman in the winter window.

Additionally, the player himself is happy at Goodison Park – with well-placed sources telling Football Insider that his focus remains on putting together a run of games at Everton.

Calvert-Lewin has started the last three Premier League games after struggling with injury early in the new season.

The England international, who is out of contract in June 2025, has managed three goals in seven appearances this term.

He signed for the Toffees in 2016 and scored 63 goals in 216 total games for the club.

Gerrard and Al-Ettifaq have already persuaded four ex-Premier League stars to make the move to Saudi Arabia, including Everton’s Demerai Gray and Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson.

Everton are next in action against West Ham on Sunday (29 October).

The Toffees sit 16th in the Premier League having won two of their opening nine league games this term.
