Sky reporter involved in fiery exchange with Klopp gives two-word verdict on Liverpool manager

Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davison has taken to social media to explain the fiery post-match interview with Jurgen Klopp after the draw with Everton, saying the Liverpool manager was “angry and upset”.

The two were involved in a heated exchange after the 1-1 Premier League draw at Anfield, which involved a controversial penalty decision.

Everton were awarded a spot-kick after a clumsy challenge by Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren on Toffees forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Referee Craig Pawson’s showed little hesitation in awarding the penalty, which was scored by Wayne Rooney, as the Toffees took an unlikely share of the points.

Liverpool boss Klopp was furious with the decision after his side had dominated the game, but Sky Sports reporter Davison held a different view.

The broadcaster admitted that he thought it was a penalty when questioned by Klopp but insisted his opinion does not matter.

The Sky Sports reporter delivered his verdict on the interview via Twitter and insisted he had no problem with the Liverpool boss.

“Angry and upset rather than rude and unpleasant I thought”, he said about Klopp. “Absolutely no problem with that.”

Liverpool controlled the first half at Anfield on Sunday and went ahead on 42 minutes through a spectacular effort by Mohamed Salah.

The Reds continued to dominate and created more chances after half-time, but failed to put the game to bed.

Then came the controversial penalty which was smashed down the middle by Rooney on 77 minutes, with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet diving to his left.

In other Liverpool news, Reds legend John Arne Riise has criticised Klopp for this decision he made in the Merseyside derby.
