Sources: AC Milan talks advance on signing Chelsea star Loftus-Cheek
AC Milan are still keen to land Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek with talks continuing over a potential deal, sources have told Football Insider.
Chelsea will sell the 27-year-old in the summer window, but talks are still in the early stages with clubs only now focusing on their transfer business following the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.
Milan are keen to bring the England international in and tried to do a deal in January, but were unable to convince the London side to enter talks.
There are also several Premier League sides keen to sign Loftus-Cheek – and Milan are well aware that the Chelsea star may choose to remain in England.
He has just 12 months remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge – which also includes a club option for an additional year.
Football Insider revealed last month (23 May) that Chelsea are not planning to take up that option – and are preparing to make Loftus-Cheek available for transfer this summer.

AC Milan opened preliminary talks prior to the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign – but are now ramping up their pursuit of the former Crystal Palace loanee.
The central midfielder made 19 starts among 25 total Premier League appearances in a disappointing season for Chelsea.
Loftus-Cheek has made a total of 155 appearances for Chelsea and has played for England on 10 occasions.
The 27-year-old will be heading for a summer exit as Chelsea seek to balance their books for Financial Fair Play regulations and make room for Mauricio Pochettino’s targets.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (5 June) that the Londoners are set to step up their interest in Brighton star Moises Caicedo after a move for Sporting CP star Manuel Ugarte fell through.
