Sources: Fulham have concrete interest in signing Patrick Wimmer
Fulham have an active interest in signing Wolfsburg star Patrick Wimmer and are plotting a move, sources have told Football Insider.
Scouts have been sent to watch the winger, 22, on multiple occasions this season and there is interest in him from around Europe and the Premier League.
The Austrian international has been hugely impressive for his side this season drawing plaudits from all corners of the Bundesliga in his debut season in Germany.
Wimmer signed last summer in a £5 million deal from Arminia Bielefeld and his contract runs until the summer of 2025. There is not currently believed to be a release clause in his deal.
It will take a strong bid for the Die Wölfe to part with the wide man but the club are aware bids will be submitted in the coming weeks.
Fulham are looking to strengthen in a number of positions and could see themselves having a strong summer after a brilliant campaign last season.
