Sources: Second Fabio Carvalho bid revealed as star wants Liverpool move
RB Leipzig are returning with a second bid for Fabio Carvalho despite Liverpool signalling their reluctance to sell, sources have told Football Insider.
The German club had an initial offer understood to be worth in excess of £10m rejected last month, and were given little encouragement that a permanent deal might be struck.
However, they remained determined to test the Reds’ resolve on the matter, with an improved bid currently being plotted.
Having struggled for regular playing time during a frustrating debut campaign at Anfield, Carvalho has already been told that he will not be part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for next season.
However, Football Insider understands that senior figures at the club do not wish to sanction the sale of a player they believe will eventually offer an even bigger return on the £7.7m they paid to Fulham last summer.
They would instead prefer to sanction a season-long loan deal such as those currently on offer from Burnley, West Ham and Brentford.

But the uncertainty of a temporary switch to a side who could end up fighting relegation and would have little reason to consider long-term development is understood to have little appeal to Carvalho.
By contrast, an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of young talents such as Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho by featuring regularly in the Bundesliga and Champions League would be seen as a more attractive option.
It is hoped that a compromise can ultimately be reached, with the insertion of a buyback option into any permanent deal one avenue that is likely to be explored.
Back in February, Carvalho opened up on his relationship with Klopp, insisting the pair were in constant conversation over where he might improve despite his lack of minutes.
“He’s always talking to me,” he told Sky Sports.
“He’s always telling me what I should be doing and what I’m doing wrong, which is just constructive criticism.
“That’s how you improve. Him and his staff are always trying to help, always trying to make sure that we get everything we need to be good for game day.”
