Celtic star Cameron Carter-Vickers backed for PL return as new details emerge - pundit
Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has been backed for a return to the Premier League.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton has no doubt Carter-Vickers would be capable of a spot in a Premier League team.
The 25-year-old joined the Celts on loan from Spurs in 2021 before penning a permanent deal and has been the number one centre-back since then.
Speaking to American outlet Sporting News (17 October), the defender didn’t rule out a return to the English top flight but insisted he is perfectly happy at Parkhead.
Hutton suggested Carter-Vickers could easily return to England and play at the top level.
“I think he has shown since he has been at Celtic that he is more than capable of playing at that level,” he told Football Insider.

“He has been down there with Tottenham for a long time, he knows what it takes and I think he has become a better player since he went to Celtic.
“I think that is what a lot of players need, exposure to big games, playing week in week out to improve and he is definitely doing that.
“The grass is not always greener but if there is an opportunity there to go to a team in the Premier League, it is going to be very difficult to turn it down. I’m pretty sure it will happen at some point.
“He is a player Celtic really need within that squad and that is what you have to show if you want a move to the Premier League.“
