Sources: Tottenham agree Van de Ven deal in principle - and will then submit 24-year-old offer

Tottenham have agreed a £30million deal with Wolfsburg for defender Micky Van de Ven pending final documents, sources have told football insider.

The centre back-has been on the radar of Tottenham since January and they have now moved to secure his signature for the upcoming campaign.

Personal terms are understood to cause no issues between parties with a verbal understanding in place between Spurs and the 22-year-old.

Liverpool were extremely keen on the Holland International and even held early conversations with Wolfsburg, but a deal never progressed from that point.

Ange Postecoglou is keen to bring in two new centre-backs before the window shuts and Van de Ven will be the first before the club turn their attention to Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba.

A long term contract is set to be offered to the Bundesliga defender, 24, as Spurs push to complete a number of deals before the window slams shut.
