Exclusive: West Ham in advanced talks to sign Harry Maguire in near-£40m deal
West Ham are now in advanced talks with Man United over signing defender Harry Maguire, sources have told Football Insider.
The centre-back, 30, has been a top target for David Moyes and the two clubs are now close to agreeing a fee close to £40million for the 30-year-old.
Its understood talks majorly moved forward on Tuesday afternoon with a starting fee of around £37m and Maguire is now much closer to the exit at United.
A original offer for the former United captain of £30m was turned down by the Red Devils hierarchy but negotiations have continued.
The wages of Maguire are very high but West Ham believe they can navigate that issue and convince the defender to join.
The club are also in talks over signing Scott McTominay, but Maguire is by far the more advanced of the two deals.

Both players are seen as sellable assets by Erik ten Hag as he looks to build for his second season in charge at Old Trafford and more new signings are set to arrive.

Maguire has made 175 appearances for Manchester United since joining from Leicester City in a £80m deal. He has won a single League Cup in his time at Old Trafford.
