Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah and fellow superstar prepared to quit as summer deals tipped - pundit

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to sign new contracts with Liverpool in the summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker both would be prepared to quit the club if they do not get the offer they want.

A recruitment source told Football Insider on Friday (4 March) Mane fears Fenway Sports Group “want him out” amid a stalemate in talks over a new deal.

The forward, 29, is out of contract at the end of next season and believes his recent performances justify a mega-money new deal.

He has scored four goals and provided one assist in the four Premier League games he has played since returning from Senegal’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph last month.

Salah is also out of contract at Anfield at the end of next season.

“I don’t see the real rush for a new contract, to be honest,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Mane and Salah want to play for Liverpool and the club know that.

“With those two, wait until the end of the season and get it sorted then. I don’t think there’s a rush.

“It’s not affecting their play. They know if Liverpool won’t give them what they want they know they will get it somewhere else anyway and can leave in the summer.

“I don’t think there’s a worry for either of them.”

Mane has 14 goals and two assists in 34 Liverpool games across all competitions this term.

Salah has found the net an astonishing 27 times in the same number of games.

In other news, it can be revealed Liverpool are on course to make a “phenomenal” £550million announcement.
