Expert claims Liverpool can't afford Raphinha after his Leeds price tag is revealed on Ferdinand's channel

Liverpool would be priced out of a move for Leeds United winger Raphinha at £60million, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, is adamant the 24-year-old would be “an amazing signing” for whoever “stumps up the money”.

Raphinha has shone for Leeds this season and scored a 94th minute winner in Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Football Insider revealed (6 February) that Liverpool are interested in the Brazil international after he blew the club’s scouts away.

It is understood that the Reds remain keen on the winger, who has two-and-half years remaining on his contract at Elland Road.

According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel (24 November), Leeds wanted more than £60million for Raphinha last summer.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the valuation, Campbell said: “I think that’s a very fair valuation for him.

“That is the going rate right now for a Brazilian international who scores and creates goals. If you are going to get any change out of £60million then you have done well.

“That probably makes a deal too pricey for Liverpool right now. I’m sure there will be other takers at £60million though.

“Raphinha knows the Premier League well and he is performing week in, week out. He would be an amazing signing for somebody if they can stump up the money.”

Leeds signed Raphinha from Rennes in a £17million deal in the summer of 2020.

He has contributed 12 goals and nine assists in 43 appearances for the Whites.

In other news, a Leeds pundit has claimed Victor Orta would be “very tempted” by an offer to join Newcastle.
