'Corrupt', 'Klopp must be fuming' - Liverpool fans react to PL table without VAR
Liverpool fans have been reacting to the suggestion they would be top of the Premier League table had VAR not been in place.
There has been plenty of talk around VAR in recent weeks, particularly on Merseyside after Luis Diaz’s goal against Tottenham was wrongfully disallowed for offside after a mixup in the VAR room.
The VAR officials thought that the onfield decision had been to allow the goal before realising their mistake after play had resumed and the Reds went on to lose the game.
Jurgen Klopp’s side entered the international break fourth in the Premier League, three points behind Spurs at the top and still reeling from the decision.
LiverpoolWorld took a look (11 October) at how the table would look had the technology not been in place this season, keeping the Reds in fourth but with an extra point.
But according to ESPN (11 October), Liverpool would be two points clear at the top of the table if VAR was not in use.
