'What's become of this great club?' - Rangers fans react as journalist shares Philippe Clement reveal

Rangers fans have been very critical after a journalist revealed the lengths the club had gone to during their managerial process before appointing Philippe Clement.

The Gers finally selected Michael Beale’s successor after a lengthy search and selected the former Club Brugge and Genk boss as their 19th manager.

Beale was sacked earlier this month after a poor run of form that included defeats to Celtic and Aberdeen as well as being knocked out of the Champions League.

Former player Steven Davis had taken interim charge of the club during their hunt and lost his first game in charge.

The Gers had shortlisted Kevin Muscat and Clement and had been conducting final talks with the pair, with Clement ultimately coming out on top.

But according to journalist Chris Jack (16 October), the Gers had compiled a “data-driven directory” of managers that could take over whilst Beale was still in his role.
