Liverpool fans react with dismay to James Pearce's update on Andy Robertson's injury

Liverpool fans have reacted with dismay after Andy Robertson broke down with a shoulder injury while on international duty with Scotland.

The 29-year-old has returned to Merseyside for further examination and will miss his country’s next fixture against France on Tuesday (17 October).

Robertson clashed with Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon and appeared to injure his shoulder, sparking fears that he may miss months of action for club and country.

Liverpool are next in action against city rivals Everton on Saturday (21 October).

The left-back, along with Brentford’s Aaron Hickey, has left the Scotland camp – with Sturm Graz defender Max Johnston joining the group.

Robertson has played every minute for Liverpool in the Premier League this season, returning one goal.

According to The Athletic journalist James Pearce (12 October), the left-back dislocated his shoulder in the clash and underwent a scan to assess the full extent of the injury on Friday (13 October).

Reacting to the news, some fans bemoaned international breaks taking place during the club season.

Some fans started to look toward a potential timeframe, with one fearing Robertson could miss “months”.

Meanwhile, more supporters bemoaned the lack of transfer business in the summer window.

Fans also looked ahead to Tsimikas’ potential involvement in Robertson’s absence, starting with the derby clash against Everton on Saturday.
