Kieran Maguire: West Ham have just agreed 'excellent Jarrod Bowen deal'
West Ham have sent a strong statement to their fans by agreeing a long-term contract extension with Jarrod Bowen.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Bowen’s new contract represents ‘excellent’ value for the Hammers.
The London club announced last Sunday (8 October) that Bowen had signed a new deal keeping him at the London Stadium until 2030.
The Athletic added that Bowen’s new seven-year agreement does not include a release clause, ensuring the Irons will not lose him without being able to arrange a suitable transfer fee.
The 26-year-old winger has grown to become a fan favourite for the Hammers and cemented his name in club history by scoring the late winning goal in their Europa Conference League final last year.
Maguire believes that West Ham have protected themselves by agreeing the contract extension without including a release clause.

“I think it certainly protects West Ham in future transfer windows,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“It’s an excellent deal for them, and it’s an excellent deal for the player.
“It sends out a statement to fans as well that we’re serious about keeping our talent.
“So I can’t see any losers.
“He’s tied in now for a long period of time.
“He seems very happy there.
“He’s very much liked by the England manager as well.
“So there doesn’t appear to be any downsides from an outside observer’s point of view.“
