Agbonlahor tips Kurt Zouma for Saudi move as 'perfect' West Ham replacement identified

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed he can see Kurt Zouma leaving West Ham for Saudi Arabia in the near future.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested Man United’s Harry Maguire would be the “perfect man-for-man replacement” for the Irons’ recently appointed captain.

Football Insider revealed last week (13 October) that a bid of between £25-30million could land West Ham skipper Zouma as Saudi Pro League sides step up their interest.

The ex-Chelsea man is out of contract in June 2025.

He has made eight starts in the English top flight this term, playing 90 minutes in each game and netting one goal.

Meanwhile, Maguire was a top target for West Ham in the summer window but eventually chose to remain at Man United despite his lack of game time under Erik ten Hag.

Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (17 October) that David Moyes’ side are set to be at the front of the queue for the England international if he changes his mind on an exit in January.

When asked about the interest in Zouma from Saudi Arabia, Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “That’s one I can picture happening.

“I don’t know when, but I can see Kurt Zouma in Saudi Arabia.

“He will know players who are over there playing, and the money will be just so hard to turn down.

“He’s approaching his thirties now, so it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him make that move in the near future.

“West Ham, then, would probably have to go back in for Maguire.

“It would be the perfect man-for-man replacement.”
