Sources: Kevin Mfuamba to sign West Brom deal today
West Brom rising star Kevin Mfuamba has agreed a professional deal at the club after attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs, sources have told Football Insider.
The central midfielder, who turns 17 on Friday, will sign pro terms in what is a major boost for the Baggies.
They feared losing the England Under-17 international to one of multiple top Premier League clubs who had made moves behind the scenes to lure him this summer.
Mfuamba made 18 appearances for West Brom’s youth side across all competitions last term, notching one assist in those outings.
Under-21s coach Richard Beale has been impressed with the teenager’s ability and performances and insisted he has a chance of playing at the highest level.
Speaking to the Express and Star (23 August), Beale said he has seen and worked with a number of young players who have gone on to play at the top and believes Mfuamba could follow in their footsteps as long as he keeps his head down.

The midfielder has featured twice for the Baggies so far this season in their Premier League 2 campaign.
He played for the majority of their 3-0 win over Aston Villa and scored in their 3-3 draw with Blackburn last week (21 August).
The youngster is yet to make his debut for the senior side at The Hawthorns but is seen as a solid prospect for the future as he commits himself to the Championship club.
