Sources: Nottingham Forest star Jonathan Panzo agrees to join Cardiff City

Nottingham Forest defender Jonathan Panzo has agreed a deal to join Caridff City on transfer deadline day, sources have told Football Insider.

Panzo, 22, is well down the pecking order at Forest and they are open to letting him move on in search of first team football.

Panzo, who spent last season on loan at Coventry, was a target for a number of Championship sides this summer, but Cardiff have managed to secure his services on loan.

On 28 August, Football Insider revealed that Forest are open to selling the 22-year-old before the cut off and has been a target for Swansea City, Cardiff and Birmingham City.

Belgian side Anderlecht were also believed to be interested in the defender as they looked for reinforcements to their back line.

Panzo is yet to make an appearances for Steve Cooper’s side this season but made 32 appearances for Coventry during his loan spell last term, notching one goal and one assist in those outings.

The centre-back joined Forest in January 2022 from French outfit Dijon and put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Since arriving last January, Panzo has made just one appearance for Cooper’s side and the club are ready to move him on in search of more regular first team football.

In June, Football Insider revealed that Scottish Premiership side Rangers were in talks with Forest over a deal for the defender with the Premier League side said to be holding out for a fee of around £2million to part ways with Panzo.
