Kieran Maguire: Sheikh Jassim could sensationally now buy Tottenham after Man United collapse
Sheikh Jassim could turn his attention towards sensationally buying Tottenham after his Man United takeover bid collapsed.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the chances of Qatar bidding for Tottenham.
Jassim withdrew from the Man United bidding process after the Glazers rejected his latest offer of over £5billion for the club.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is now the favourite to complete a deal for the Manchester giants.
As reported by The Standard, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said back in September that the North London club would consider any “serious propositions” to buy the club.
Maguire believes that Tottenham are an ‘incredibly attractive’ club and will be on the radar of Jassim.

“Given the ongoing uncertainties with regards to Joe Lewis, I think it is fair to say that Spurs are in play for mergers and acquisitions,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“It’s what we normally refer to as soft interest – there’s not a ‘for sale’ sign at the club, but potential bidders would be invited in.
“I think people are putting two and two together with regards to Sheikh Jassim.
“I suspect his team are still licking their wounds after what happened at Manchester United.
“They do feel very let down, and they’ll also be aware of Daniel Levy’s reputation as a tough negotiator and therefore that might make them wary of going down the same route.
“So I wouldn’t expect a quick involvement, but Spurs are an incredibly attractive club.
“They’ve got the best stadium in the country, one of the best coaches in the country and they’re playing fantastic football.
“They’re in London, the commercialisation of the club is accelerating and all of those are positives for potential bidders.“
