Sources: Liverpool and Man City handed 'huge' boost in race to sign Jamal Musiala
Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala will push for a January move if he doesn’t get regular game time in the next months with Man City and Liverpool keeping tabs, sources have told Football Insider.
The Premier League giants are among the club’s monitoring the 20-year-old attacking midfielder’s situation ahead of the January window.
The clubs, along with Real Madrid, are closely watching the player and building dossiers on him as they do their background checks.
His current deal at the Allianz Arena, which nets him a reported £83,000-a-week, is set to expire in June 2026.
More significantly is Musiala’s second-string role at Bayern, where he has started just three of their nine Bundesliga matches this season.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the youngster is frustrated about not being a regular starter in Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Musiala is widely considered one of the best young players in Europe, with one recruitment source branding him a “huge talent and “potential world beater”.
He is valued at more than £100million by Bayern although they do not want to sell him.
On 22 October, Football Insider revealed that Man City are exploring a potential deal for Musiala as they continue to monitor his situation in Germany.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday (21 October) that Liverpool are also doing their due diligence on a potential move for Musiala.
Their need could be the greater amid major doubts over the future of Mohamed Salah, who will have one year remaining on his contract next summer and has already been the subject of a £150million Saudi bid that was rejected in the last window.
Both clubs have been alerted to the German’s possible availability as he negotiates a new deal with the Bundesliga giants.
