Sources: West Ham send scouts to watch Dominic Solanke as offer revealed

West Ham talent spotters watched Dominic Solanke in action for Bournemouth on Saturday, sources have told Football Insider.

The Irons are keeping close tabs on the striker, 25, as they work on signing a centre-forward before the window shuts.

West Ham scouts assessed Solanke against Liverpool the previous weekend and then once again in Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Tottenham.

The Londoners have submitted a £35-40million bid for the striker, who is also on Fulham’s target list.

West Ham are in the market for a striker who can lead the front line and weigh in with a regular share of goals.

The Hammers went top of the Premier League table on Saturday after a convincing 3-1 win over Brighton.

Michail Antonio netted his second of the season when leading the line for David Moyes’ side, but the Irons manager is still keen to add more depth to his striker department.

Solanke scored seven goals and registered seven assists for Bournemouth last season as the Cherries upset the odds to survive relegation and finish 15th in the table.

He is already off the mark for the 2023/24 season after scoring against West Ham in the opening fixture of the season.

Solanke also provided the assist for Antoine Semenyo at Anfield in front of Hammers scouts last week.

During his four years with the south coast club, Solanke has scored 57 goals in 177 appearances across all competitions.
