Sources: Moises Caicedo's Liverpool move is '100% off' - he's heading to Chelsea
Moises Caicedo is set to sign for Chelsea despite a British-record hijack attempt from Liverpool, sources have told Football Insider.
A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Merseysiders’ move is “100% off” with the 21-year-old now ready to put pen to paper at Stamford Bridge.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (11 August) that Chelsea were preparing a huge new bid to trump Liverpool’s offer for the Brighton midfielder – which totalled £110million.
The Blues have been in pursuit of Caicedo throughout this summer’s transfer window but were stunned by a late hijack from Liverpool which materialised on Thursday (10 August).
Jurgen Klopp’s side looked to have won the race for his signature but Chelsea have battled back and are now closing in on a full agreement with player and club.
Klopp even spoke out about Caicedo in his pre-match press conference on Friday (11 August) – confirming an “exciting” deal had been agreed with Brighton.

But Mauricio Pochettino is a big admirer and Caicedo is viewed as a key part of Chelsea’s midfield overhaul.
It is believed a lucrative contract is on the table at Stamford Bridge as the Ecuador international prepares to pledge his future to the Blues.
He became a top target for both Premier League sides – as well as other admirers such as Arsenal – after starring in Brighton’s midfield last season.
Caicedo thrived under Graham Potter and Roberto De Zerbi last season, making 43 appearances across all competitions and developing at a rapid rate.
The midfielder, who also developed his skills as a right-back last term, cost Brighton just £4.5million 24 months ago.
