Sources: Man City expect to agree Barco signing in January
Man City are confident of agreeing a deal for Boca Juniors left-back Valentin Barco, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old is highly-rated in his native Argentina and has caught the eye playing for the Buenos Aires outfit.
It is believed that Man City, Brighton and Juventus all looked into a potential move for Barco in the summer window – but a transfer failed to materialise.
All three clubs are expected to make moves again in January, but a well-placed source has told Football Insider that City are confident of winning the race for his signature.
They see the left-back as a player with real potential, and someone who can solve their long-standing issues at left-back.
Barco is under contract at Boca Juniors in December 2024, after coming through the ranks at La Bombonera.
