Sources: Blackpool in advanced talks to sign Brentford star Charlie Goode
Blackpool are in advanced talks to sign Brentford defender Charlie Goode on loan, sources have told Football Insider.
The 27-year-old has been given the green light to leave before the window shuts after failing to make a first-team appearance for Thomas Frank’s side this season
Blackpool are in the market for a new central defender this month and are working on a deal to land Goode.
Negotiations have progressed in the last hours and a breakthrough is imminent.
Goode has only made 20 first-team appearances for the Bees since joining from Northampton in the summer of 2020.
In January 2022, he was loaned to Sheffield United after failing to make an impact following Brentford’s promotion to the Premier League.

However, at Bramall Lane, he also struggled for game time and only made two appearances.
During his second outing for the Blades, Goode was shown a straight red card and was not included in another Championship matchday squad for the remainder of his loan spell.
Goode came through the ranks at Harefield United before enjoying spells at Hadley, AFC Hayes, and Hendon.
He earned a move to Scunthorpe in 2015 before departing to Northampton on an initial loan after four seasons at Glanford Park.
The defender then departed for Brentford in the summer of 2020 after a successful spell with the Cobblers.
